HEATH — A funeral service for Wanda L. McQueen-Stewart, 81, of Heath will be held Monday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan K. Grove officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at her residence. She was born Jan. 25, 1928, in Newark to the late Cecil S. and Ruth (George) Crego. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed life as a homemaker cooking, canning and sewing for her family. She and her husband, Gene traveled to the western states. She had been a member of a bowling league and had been employed for several firms in Newark including Grants, Super Duper, Clark Tax Service and Anchor Coupling.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Randy) Swihart of Heath; grandchildren, Elissa Swihart, Kaila Swihart and Heather (Barry) Rine; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Alexis; stepsons, Randy (Judy) Stewart and Greg Stewart of Granville; stepgrandchildren, Randi Lynn and Jason (Renee) Stewart; four stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Crego of Heath, Phyllis Courtright of Newark and Connie Brown of Newark; brother, Gary Crego of Windsor, Colo.; sister-in-law, Lucille Crego of Florida; special friend, Adabell McQueen of Frazeysburg; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph N. McQueen and Gene L. Stewart; brother, Neil Crego; brother-in-law, Jake Courtright; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Robert Walsh; stepson, Brad Stewart.
Calling hours will be observed Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main St., Newark.
