MOUNT VERNON — Josh K. McCoy, 28, Mount Vernon died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Sept. 26, 1981, in Norman, Okla., to David and Julie (Stoffel) McCoy. Josh was a 2000 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and lettered in football. To the dismay of his friends, Josh was a Michigan fan. Josh was a hard worker and he loved his kids beyond measure. He is survived by his children, Braylon and Emma McCoy; the mother of his children and good friend, Jenn (McConnell) McCoy; a sister, Hannah (Isaac) DeLamatre and their son, Asher of North Carolina; a brother, Caleb McCoy and fiancé Jessica Roseberry of Mount Vernon; paternal grandparents, Troy and Pat McCoy of Oklahoma City, Okla.; maternal grandmother, Barbara Stoffel of Kewaskum, Wis.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gilbert Stoffel.

Josh’s willingness to give followed him in his contributions to Lifeline of Ohio that allowed others a second chance at life.

Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The family will observe a private service. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
