MOUNT VERNON — Wanda Speaks of Mount Vernon passed away Dec. 25, 2009.

She was born Feb. 21, 1930, to Carl and Gladys (Deem) Henthorn in Parkersburg, W.Va. She was past president of AMVETS Auxiliary Post 95. She worked many jobs during her life.

She is survived by children, Patty (James) Moran of Mount Vernon, Duane Thomas of Mount Vernon, Mike Grennell of Washington, Robert Speaks of Louisiana, Carol Cole of Louisiana and Russell Speaks of Hilliard; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane McClain; and brother, William Henthorn.

She was preceded in death by husband, Fred, in 1999; sisters, Bernida Sammon and Carolyn Spearman.

Graveside ceremony will be Saturday, Jan. 2, at 1 p.m. in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown, with the Rev. Wade Wolf officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses. The Rodman Funeral Service in Columbus is in charge of the arrangements.
