SUNBURY — Jacquelin Lee “Jackie” White, 77, of Sunbury died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at St. Ann’s Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Wilmington to the late Chester and Glendora (Jones) Smith. A graduate and co-valedictorian of Hyatts High School in 1950, Jackie was a registered critical care nurse and worked at Alternative Care Management Systems of Dublin.

Survived by her husband of 58 years, John; sons, Jim White of Delaware, John of Sunbury; daughter, Julie Vigar of Delaware; two grandsons; sisters, Vea Jo Smith, Mary Jane Smith; nephew, Jeff Warren; brother-in-law, Chalmer White of Mount Vernon; and extended family.

Preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Warren.

Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, prior to the noon funeral services at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with the Rev. Shirley Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Green Mound Cemetery.
