LOUDONVILLE — Ruth M. Stitzlein, 94, of Loudonville died Saturday morning, Jan. 9, 2010, in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville, after a two-week illness.

Miss Stitzlein was born Feb. 25, 1915, near Greer, the daughter of the late Martin and Ada (Richert) Stitzlein. She had lived in the Loudonville area all of her life, and was the custodian at Loudonville Library during the late ’60s and ’70s. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Women of Zion and the Sewing Circle. Ruth loved baking, especially her cookies and rolls. Ruth grew up milking cows by hand and always had a large vegetable and flower garden when she lived on the family farm.

She is survived by one sister, Marguerite Kopp of Loudonville; one brother, Glen Stitzlein of Jeromesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Fred, Paul and Doyle Stitzlein; and one sister, Rosella Breitenbucher.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville, with the Rev. Scott Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. The Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
