SUNBURY — Mark W. Fisher, 97, of Sunbury died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 1, 1912, in Mason County, W.Va., to the late John D. and Myrtle (Jordan) Fisher. He worked in the timber industry in his youth and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Rural Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by sons, Mark Wayne (Brenda) Fisher of Delaware, Max (Cindy) Fisher of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Fisher; and a sister, Delphia Barr.
Preceded in death by wife, Edna Cora Thompson; five brothers; and a sister.
Friends may call Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Rural Chapel United Methodist Church, 5850 Cheshire Road, Galena, OH 43021, with Pastor Robert Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Berkshire Cemetery.
