LOUDONVILLE — Donna Katherine Glasgo, 96, of Loudonville died Thursday afternoon, Jan. 14, 2010, in Hospice House of North Central Ohio.
Mrs. Glasgo was born May 22, 1913, in Knox County, the daughter of the late William and Estella (Giffin) Workman. She was a 1930 graduate of Danville High School and she attended college to become a teacher. She taught in one-room schools in Amity, Raleigh and 3C (Norick). After raising her sons, she returned to teaching at Butler and Loudonville, and in 1969 received her BA in Education from Ashland College, before retiring in 1975. She was a member of North Bend Church of the Brethren, but for many years she attended Perrysville Baptist Church. On Dec. 29, 1945, she married Kenneth J. Glasgo and he died Oct. 20, 2002.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Philip and Dana Glasgo of Gilford, Ind., Lt. Col. (ret) Stephen and Charlotte Glasgo of Loudonville; and five grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth D. Workman; and a half brother, Fred Workman.
Funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. in Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Pastor Patrick Bailey officiating. Burial will be in North Bend Cemetery, Knox County. Friends may call Sunday, Jan. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home.
