MOUNT VERNON — Selaudin Muka, 90, of 901 Summit Drive, Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Korca, Albania, to the late Ymer and Mamude (Agastra) Muka. Selaudin served in the Albanian Army stationed in the former Yugoslavia. He retired from the Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, Conn., and was a member of the Albanian Islamic Center of Detroit, Mich.

He is survived by his loving family, a daughter, Ferzilet (Taip) Saciri of Mount Vernon; two sons, Servet (Ajko) Muka of Mount Vernon and Ymer (Halime) Muka of Mount Vernon; nine grandchildren, Elda Muka, Klodi Meka, Arti Muka, Rudi Muka, Nardi Muka, Besnik “Bez” Saciri, Gezim Saciri, Burim Saciri and Gennete Saciri; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Zeqabe Pajo, Beie Spaillari and Mime Kape.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Gennie Lee Muka, in 1999; and a brother formerly of Albania, Servet Muka.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where friends may call one hour prior. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Mound View Cemetery.
