GAMBIER — Mary Louise Yeager, 82, of Gambier died Sunday evening, Jan. 24, 2010, in the emergency room at Knox Community Hospital, after a long battle with heart disease.

She was born July 21, 1927, in the former Mercy Hospital in Mount Vernon, the daughter of the late Harry J. and Dorothy M. (McMahon) Yeager. Mary had worked for Cooper-Bessemer in Mount Vernon and retired from the former American National Can in Mount Vernon. She was Methodist by faith. Mary enjoyed taking care of the family homestead in Gambier.

Mary is survived by her sister, Jane Yeager of Gambier; her brother, James (Martha) Yeager of Mount Vernon; nephews, David (Bonnie) Yeager of Howard and Michael (Judy) Yeager of Athens; a niece, Laura D. Williams of Columbus; five great-nephews; two great-nieces; and her feline companions, especially Susie.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. Pastor Dave Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier.
