CENTERBURG — Ethel H. Davis, 85, of Centerburg was called away to be with the Lord on Jan. 28, 2010.
Born March 15, 1924, in McDowell County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Earm and Bertha Kennedy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Newton McKinley Davis Sr.; sister, Zada Kennedy Blake; brother, Earnest Kennedy; and grandson, Shawn Griffith.
Left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Christine Thomas of Lithia, Fla., Bertha Kennedy and husband, Lowell, of Jolo, W.Va., Nancy Griffith and husband, Jim, of Centerburg; four sons, Larry Davis and wife, Phylis, of Chesterfield, Va., Doug Davis and wife, Roberta, of Brandon, Fla., Newton (Ken) Davis Jr. and wife, Vickey, of Fredericktown and Bill (Tub) Davis and wife, Brenda, of Columbus; three sisters, Emma Thoman, Georgia Kroniger and Hazel Kennedy; brother, Bill Kennedy; 15 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where service will be held Monday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. The Rev. J.R. Smith of the True Bible Church of Rich Hill, Ohio, officiating. Interment in Eastview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Ethel was a long-term resident of Heartland of Centerburg and the family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care she received.
