MOUNT VERNON — Christopher I. Loney, 70, of Newark Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Sept. 11, 1939, in Mount Vernon to the late William Clifford and Goldie Frances (Evans) Loney. Chris served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Weyerhaeuser after 35 years of employment.

He is survived by a son, Henderson “Butch” (Brandi) Butcher of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Pamela Jean (David) Loney-Rush of Centerburg and Tamela A. Loney of Mount Vernon; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Maime) Loney of Mount Vernon; and two sisters, Dorothy Frost of Mount Vernon and Pearl (Pete) Malas of Cincinnati.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Loney, in 2009; five brothers, James Loney, Gene Loney, Charles Loney, Alan Loney and William Loney; and three sisters, Martha Bjerk, Ann Blair and Charlotte Beam.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Brother L J Harry will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
