MOUNT VERNON — Eva Faye
Shanyfelt, 78, of Plaza Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away early Friday morning,
Feb. 12, 2010, at the Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.
She was born Jan. 7, 1932, in Knox County to the late Emerson and Edna Lilla
(Styers) Hunter. Eva was employed as a transport operator for the Edmont Glove
Factory and was a member of the Tiverton Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Theresa) Shanyfelt of Mount Vernon; two
grandchildren, Jeffery A. Shanyfelt Jr., Tiffany R. (Mahdi) Bradley; four great-grandchildren,
Kaitline G. Banbury, Marcus A. Bradley, Alivia M. Bradley, Khloe M. Bradley;
a sister, Monna Pruett of Sparta; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Shanyfelt;
a sister, Donna Shaffer; and three brothers, James, Lloyd, and William Hunter.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 16, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder
Funeral Home, where a service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald Bell
officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
