PERRYSBURG — James L. Logston, 79, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
Jim was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Brinkhaven to James W. and Nora (Mobley) Logston. Jim served our country in the U.S. Army. He married Beverly Singer on June 12, 1954, in Mount Vernon and she preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 2001. Jim was a supervisor at The Andersons, retiring in 1996. He was a former member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dowling. Jim was an avid fan of Toledo Mud Hens and Cleveland Indians baseball. He also enjoyed hunting and all types of music.
Jim is survived by his children, Robert (Tamie) Logston of Bowling Green, Nora (Troy) Rodenberger of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Jim (Karla) Logston of Fleming Island, Fla., Douglas Logston of Toledo and Daniel Logston of Perrysburg; sister, Dolores Meehan of Orlando Fla.; grandchildren, Tara, Troy (Holly), Bobby (Sharon), Jason, Emily, Noah and Donnovyn; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Feb. 17, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue Thursday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dowling, until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Rothfuss. Burial will follow in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery, Dowling.
