WEST LAFAYETTE — Hazel Arlene Thomas, 88, of West Lafayette passed away at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital on Feb. 2, 2010.

She was born in Coshocton County on Nov. 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Arthur and Goldie (Hault) Mencer. She attended Keene School and was employed at the M. O’Neil Co. in Coshocton and was also a homemaker. She was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith, and she enjoyed reading, playing cards, fishing and traveling. Hazel was married to Alvin Mullett, David Buehler and Wilbur Thomas, all preceded her in death.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Bill Darnell of Virginia, DeDe Payne of Florida and Jennifer (Todd) Mallory of Lancaster; several great-grandchildren; one niece, Sandra (Lloyd) Bantum of West Lafayette; and one nephew, Steve (Shirley) Eiler of Texas.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Darnell; two grandsons, Don and Scott Darnell; and a sister, Helen Eiler.

Per her wishes, cremation took place and a Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held Sunday, Feb. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, U.S. 36 West, Coshocton, with Seth Hatfield officiating.
