FREDERICKTOWN — Gary A. Schumacher, 57, of Woodview Lane, Fredericktown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 15, 1952 in Youngstown to Philip A. and Marie (Nagy) Schumacher. Gary served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and worked in IT for various companies including Chemical Abstracts Service, Ross Labs and Gold Circle. He was an avid and knowledgeable bird watcher. Gary was known for his entertaining skills; 20 years ago he learned to juggle and had juggled seven items at one time.

He is survived by his mother; his loving wife, Beth (Schwenke) Kramer Schumacher; a stepdaughter, Clare (Don) Myers of Cincinnati; two stepgrandchildren, Ellie Myers and Abbie Myers; two brothers, Philip M. (Barbara) Schumacher of Columbus, James (Joann) Schumacher of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Cheryl (Allan) Sturms of Lewis Center, Judy (Bill) Leahey of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his father he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marianna Russell; and a stepgranddaughter, Lily Ann Myers.

A memorial service will be Sunday, Feb. 21, at 9 a.m. during the Sunday service at the Fredericktown United Methodist Church, 123 Columbus Road, Fredericktown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fredericktown Interchurch, 69 N. Main St., Fredericktown, OH 43019; or the Ohio Bird Sanctuary, 3774 Orweiler Road, Mansfield, OH 44903.
