ANDERSON, S.C. — Allen Basil Beever of Anderson Place died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at the AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Utica, Ohio, on March 2, 1921, he was the son of the late Lester Eugene Beever and the late Fannie Moreland Beever. He was raised in Mount Vernon and then lived 20 years in Edinburgh, Ind. He and his family then moved to Leesburg, Fla., where he retired from Sutter’s HVAC as their bookkeeper. He served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post in Edinburgh, Ind., and the Leesburg Boat Club in Leesburg, Fla.

He is survived by his wife of 65 year, Betty L. (Crouthers) Beever; and their children, William Lester Beever and his wife, Phyllis, of Anderson, S.C., Thomas Allen Beever and his wife, Audrey, of Boiling Springs, S.C., Sue Dix and her husband, Mike, of Indianapolis, Ind., and James Lyle Beever of Leesburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Minnie Beever; and a sister, Jane Hurlow.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
