MOUNT VERNON — Clifford H. Ridgeway Jr., 68, of Mount Vernon passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 20, 2010, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon, following a courageous battle with Parkinson Disease.
He was born Sept. 5, 1941, in Mount Vernon, a son of Clifford C. and Maxene (Drake) Ridgeway of Tyler, Texas. Clifford was the owner and operator of Wheels Plus Auto Sales in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Mount Vernon, the Auto Dealers Association and the Corvette Group. Clifford enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
In addition to his parents, Clifford is survived by his sons, Randall Ridgeway of Utica and Ricky Ridgeway of Madison; three grandchildren; a sister, Connie Jo Fleming of Newark; a brother, Jeffrey Ridgeway of Bullard, Texas; and special friends, Dreama Thompson of Utica, Michael Emert of Mount Vernon, and Mary Jane and John Kaylor of Howard.
Clifford was preceded in death by a son, Russell Ridgeway in 1996.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
