BUTLER — Jesse Fields, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Ermine, Ky., he was the son of Joseph and Ada (Combs) Fields. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he married Eloise Tackett on July 5, 1946.

He is survived by his wife; their children, Deloris Hamilton, Dean Fields, Jim Fields, Mary Fields, Eddie Fields, Clarence Fields, Edie Yarman, Larry Fields, Kit Fields and Ricky Fields; 76 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Ken Kinley will officiate. Burial will follow in Bunkerhill Cemetery near Butler, where American Legion Post 535 will hold graveside military honors.
