MARENGO — Robert L. “Robby” Davis, 45, of Marengo died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, following surgery at Riverside Methodist Hospital from complications with Crohn’s disease.

A lifelong resident of Morrow County, he was born in Columbus on May 27, 1964, and was a graduate of Highland High School in 1982. A lifelong truck driver, he formerly was the manager of the Croton Egg Farm. He was a member of the OSTPA, Richland County Tractor Pullers Association, and the Morrow County Coon Hunters. An outdoorsman, who enjoyed attending tractor pulls, coon hunting and fishing, he was also a fan of NASCAR; following Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr.

Even though he enjoyed being the center of attention, he was always concerned about others more than himself. Both imaginative and persuasive, he was also affectionate. He will be remembered for his love of family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Harold (Beverly) Davis of Mount Vernon; brother, Randy Davis of Marengo; sister, Cyndi (Clyde) Huvler of Centerburg; stepfather, John Townsend of Marengo; niece, nephews, great-niece and nephew; close friend, Bob Varner; extended family and numerous friends.

Friends may call today from 4 to 7 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Deel officiating.
