FREDERICKTOWN — Jean McKee, 86, of Netherland Road, Fredericktown, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at her home.

She was born July 18, 1923, in New London to the late Leland and Izadore (Pond) Wertz. Jean was the part owner, along with her husband, of McKee Custom Butchering in London, Ohio, for over 25 years and was a member of Batemantown United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, James (Cathy) McKee of Ithaca, N.Y.; two daughters, Sally Mills of Howard and Jacqueline (Duane) Johnson of Wellington; seven grandchildren, Robert, Stephen, Deanna, Katie, Benjamin, Tyler and Elizabeth; and four great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Sophia, Carson and Asa.

Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of over 63 years, Merrill Lee McKee.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. at the Batemantown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lyle Warren officiating. The Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown is honored to serve the family of Jean McKee.
