REYNOLDSBURG — Barbara M. (Tier) Koelbl, 80, of Reynoldsburg, formerly of Mount Vernon, died March 1, 2010, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.

She was born July 7, 1929, in Mount Vernon and was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (McKenzie) Tier. Barbara had worked for Rudin’s Department Store in the 1960s and then for the Knox County Savings and Loan for eight years. Barbara and her husband then moved to Texas where she started and managed the Waldon Book Store for 18 years in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Harold “Sonny” Koelbl of Reynoldsburg; her son, Jack (Barbara Ann Richert) Koelbl of Reynoldsburg; sister, Mildred Collins of Mount Vernon; “her pride and joy” grandchildren, Peter Koelbl of Hilliard and Andrea Koelbl of Rogers, Ark.; and a very special niece, Mary Jo (Tier) Fite of California.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, at 11 a.m. in Mound View Cemetery with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral arrangements for the Koelbl family.
