MOUNT VERNON — Arlene Rose Bross, 76, of Club Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 5, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born May 1, 1933, in Mount Vernon to the late Frederick and Helen (Ferris) Mossholder Sr. Arlene was a simple woman and enjoyed sending wishful cards to family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ralph Bross; her children, Doyle (Mary Jo) Bross of Portsmouth, Tracey Varela of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Marsha (Bob) Devlin of Mount Vernon and Jerry (Susan Strack) Bross of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Frederick (Pat) Mossholder Jr. of Howard; and a sister, Leona Hiles of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mossholder.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
