COLUMBUS — Ronald D. Sopp, 67, of Columbus passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, at The Ohio State University Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 4, 1942, in Columbus and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Becky Samples; his son, Michael Sopp of Worthington; and his daughter, Kelly Sopp of Delaware.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at the Grace Point Community Church, 2393 Peach Blow Road, Lewis Center, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the OSU Pulmonary Rehabilitation Patient Scholarship Fund (#311792) at The Ohio University, c/o Megan Covitz, 473 W. 12th Ave., Columbus, OH 43210.
