MOUNT VERNON — Mildred Davis, age 85, of Wooster Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Homer to the late Homer and Ruth (Sesser) Houck. Mildred worked as a cook for Morning View Care Center. She was a member of the Fredericktown Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her son, Terry (Deborah) Davis of Brinkhaven; two daughters, Pat Partlow of Mount Vernon and Linda (Ron) Edwards of Marion; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine (Don) Paige of Palm Bay, Fla., Elinor Stauffer of Florida and Jean (Gail) Neighbarger of Utica.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Davis; two brothers, Harold Houck and Howard Houck.

A graveside service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Pastor Ron Vozar will officiate. The Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown is honored to serve the family of Mildred Davis.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fredericktown Seventh-day Adventist Church, 173 S. Main St., Fredericktown, OH 43019.
