MEDINA — Alice K. Schnee Richmond, 101, of Medina went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 19, 2010.

She was born Oct. 28, 1908, in Bloomingville to the late Jay V. and Bessie Ramsdell. Alice lived most of her life in Erie and Huron counties prior to moving to Medina several years ago. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1926. Alice was a skilled musician in piano and organ. She taught piano lessons for many years. Alice had been a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Norwalk. She loved to do needlework of all kinds, especially crocheting and knitting.

Alice is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Norman) Wolff of Medina and Dr. Maureen Hunter of Utica; daughter-in-law, Nancy Schnee of Monroeville; stepdaughter, Merlene (Jim) Brown of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Cynthia Fuller of Wadsworth, Deborah Ross of Medina, Kathleen (Glenn) Brancart of Winter Park, Fla., Jeffrey (Jacquelyn) Wolff of Medina, Susan (Robert) Yatsu of Tallmadge, Barbara (David) Mahl of Monroeville, Connie Jacobs (Paul McFadden) of Bellevue, Gary (Patti) Schnee of Bellevue and Bessis (Asa) Ulrey of Utica. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Beth (Tom) Voltz, and two nephews, Dale (Alice) Ramsdell and Glen Ramsdell, all of Sandusky; and one first cousin, Harry D. (Bud) Newton of Norwalk.

Alice was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Schnee; second husband, Forrest Richmond; a son, David Schnee; two granddaughters, Patricia Crego and Janet Hunter; and a brother, Ralph Ramsdell.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City, Ohio. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 25, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 2233 Abbeyville Road, Valley City, with the Rev. Michael Koch officiating. The graveside service will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in North Monroeville Cemetery, State Route 99, North Monroeville.
