UTICA — A funeral service for Francis E. “Frank” Grennell, 81, of Utica will be held Wednesday, April 7, at 10 a.m. at Utica Church of Christ with Alan Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Lock Cemetery.

Frank died April 4, 2010, at his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1929, in Mount Vernon to the late Frank and Bernice (Moran) Grennell. He attended the Utica Church of Christ, was co-founder of Utica EMS, an Army veteran, member of American Legion Post 92, Licking Lodge 291, Valley of Columbus Scottish Rite, Aladdin Shrine 40 & 8, and ambassador and provost of Aladdin Shrine.

He is survived by wife, Betty E. (Douglass) Grennell, sons, Michael E. “Monk” Grennell, Lester A. and Linda Grennell, and daughter, Patricia and Norman Creighton, all of Utica; brother, Charles Grennell of Groveport; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and John Grennell; sister, Isabelle Smith; and daughter-in-law, Renee C.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 6, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Utica Church of Christ 115 N. Central Ave., Utica, where Masonic services will also be held at 5:45 p.m.
