NEWARK — Calling hours for Mabel V. Knowlton, 87, of Newark will be held Wednesday, April 7, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael McNerney officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.

Mabel died March 31, 2010, at her residence. She was born April 5, 1922, in Lock, Ohio, to the late John and Mary (Brown) Saunders. Mabel worked at Georgia Pacific in Newark for 28 years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Valorie and Michael McNerney of Newark; grandsons, Michael D. and Diana Trueblood of Phoenix, Ariz., Eric M. and Christina McNerney of Newark; great-grandchildren, Dominic McNerney and Kairi McNerney; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Lucille Saunders of Newark, Kenneth and Pauline Saunders of Mount Vernon; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Don Lewis of Fallsburg and Mike Ludwig of Utica.

She was preceded in death by her son, Elmer Knowlton, who passed away March 17, 2010.
