CENTERBURG — Edith Ann Phillips, 53, of Centerburg passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Centerburg Pointe following a courageous battle against cancer.
A graduate of Centerburg High School in 1975, she was born June 3, 1956, in Mount Vernon to the late Jewel and Opal (Gore) Jones. She worked in the food service industry. She enjoyed long walks, clowns, watching movies and a good meal. Sweet, kind-hearted and compassionate, she was a people person, who treasured family and friends.
Survived by children, Derek Phillips of Centerburg, Jarrod Phillips of Fredericktown, Brittany and Lisa Compton of Centerburg; grandchildren, Blaze and Gunner; sister, Juldean Jones; nieces and nephews; her boyfriend, Danny Kirk; and the staff and residents at Centerburg Pointe.
She was also preceded in death by her niece, Riley Lanigan.
Graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mount Liberty Cemetery, with the Rev. Mardessa Baker officiating. Arrangements entrusted to DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.
