UTICA — Ross F. Robey, 83, of Utica passed away Saturday afternoon, April 17, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born July 19, 1926, in Martinsburg, a son of the late John H. and Alice May (Ross) Robey. Ross was a Tool and Die Maker for the former Miller Co. in Utica and retired from Dayton Precision in Heath. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Italy. Ross was a member of the Owl Creek Baptist Church near Mount Vernon and the Licking Masonic Lodge, F&AM 0291 in Utica for over 60 years.

Ross is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha E. (Ewart) Robey; a son, C. Daniel (Roberta) Robey of Utica; daughters, Mary (Alan) Mills and Ruth (James) Frady, both of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald E. (Patricia) Robey of Mount Vernon; and a sister, Kathryn Woolison of Gambier.

In addition to his parents, Ross was preceded in death by his brothers, John W. Robey, Merrill J. Arrington and Orvill J. Arrington; and a grandson, Benjamin Frady.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of a memorial service celebrating the life of Ross at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, at the Owl Creek Baptist Church, 4044 Owl Creek Road, Mount Vernon, with the Revs. Robert Hughes and Harold Van Broekhoven officiating. Private inurnment will be held in Owl Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
