REEDSVILLE, Pa. — Paul C. Madtes Sr., 82, of 4287 U.S. Highway 322, Reedsville, Pa., died at 5:47 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the Golden Living Center-William Penn.
Born Sept. 3, 1927, in New Tripoli, he was the son of the late Clayton and M. Evelyn (Snyder) Madtes.
He is survived by his children, Brenda Coulter and her husband, Duane of Lewiston, and Dr. Paul C. Madtes Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Mount Vernon, Ohio; grandchildren, Mark and Neil Coulter, and Sarah and Matthew Madtes. Brothers and sister, Willard Madtes and his wife, Nancy, of Pueblo, Colo., Carl Madtes and his wife, Arline, of Slatington, Pa., LaMar Madtes and his wife Gloria of New Tripoli, Pa., and Marian Johnson and her husband, Arthur, of Orefield, Pa.
He was a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves. Paul was employed as a national sales manager for Organic Recycling Inc. in West Chester for six years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Cape May, N.J., and was attending the Kish Valley Grace Brethren Church in Reedsville.
His funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Heller-Hoenstein Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewiston, with the Revs. Carl Madtes and Douglas Sabin officiating. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
