UTICA — A family gathering will be held to commemorate the life of Bonnie Marcella Branstool, 98, of Utica who passed away on April 28, 2010.
She was born to Arnold and Melinda (Oberley) Motter on March 20, 1912, in Blufton, Ohio, and was raised in Andover in Ashtabula County, Ohio. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family and others first and was known for her beautiful flower gardens and her vegetable gardens. She was a member of the Utica Church of Christ and had served as church secretary for several years. She was a founding member of the Utica Garden Club.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Mary Jo Branstool and Ronald and Romona Branstool of Utica; eight grandchildren, Mary Martha (Doug) Radabaugh, Marshall (Edna) Branstool, John Branstool, David (Paulette) Branstool and Charles (Christy) Branstool, Lisa Branstool, Debby (Mike) Pettay and Jennifer Branstool (Kevin Mintier). Her 18 great-grandchildren are Brian (Kacey) Radabaugh, Nathan Radabaugh, Luke Radabaugh and Tessa Radabaugh, Tyler Branstool and Alex Branstool, Travis Branstool, Charlie Branstool, Mallory Branstool and Mason Branstool, Taylor Branstool, Samuel Branstool and Gracie Branstool, Stella Branstool, Griffyn Stewart and Isabelle Stewart, Elizabeth Pettay, Abigail Pettay, Nicole Pettay and Ben Pettay. She has one great-great-granddaughter, Reese Radabaugh. Also surviving are her brother, William (Carolyn) Dudgeon of Florida; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charlie, who died in 1993; and her brother, Vern Motter.
A her request her body was bequeathed to the Ohio State University College of Medicine for the advancement of learning. Friends may make a contribution to Hospice of Licking County or a charity of their choice.
