BONITA SPRINGS Fla. — Eldora Louise Kalp Fithian, 90, of Bonita Springs, Fla., died Tuesday, April 27, 2010.
She was born March 4, 1920, in Dravosburg, Pa., the daughter of Ward Joseph and Margaret (Nee Berger) Kalp. Eldora was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Grove City (PA) College, where she met and later married the love of her life, George Fithian. She taught accounting for 23 years at Mount Vernon (Ohio) High School. Upon retiring, Eldora and George moved to Bonita Springs, Fla., where they have resided for the last 30 years. Eldora was a devout Christian and for many years was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. She and George were fond of traveling and took many wonderful trips to all parts of the world.
Until they are reunited again, those Eldora leaves behind to honor and cherish her are her ever faithful and loving husband of 67 years, George S. Fithian; son, Charles Fithian; daughter, Claire Fithian (Mike) O’Dell; grandchildren, Denise Fithian (Phil) McEachern, Dawn O’Dell (Tom) Combs and Troy (Masha) O’Dell; seven great-grandchildren, Sierra and Eric McEachern, Zachary and Jacob Combs, Adam, Brianna and Christopher O’Dell; brother, Paul (Shirley) Kalp; and sister, Nancy Kalp Shearer.
Eldora is now with her Lord in his eternal home, surrounded by her parents and all the many friends and relatives whom she loved in her earthly life and who went before her.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs on Thursday, May 6, at 2 p.m. In her memory, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice, 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs, FL 34135; or to the Dan Moser Memorial Clinic, c/o First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, 9751 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
