HOWARD — William A. Skinner, 82, of Howard died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus.
William was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Toledo to the late Anthony C. Skinner and Helen Gertrude (Buschen) Skinner, and had been a resident of Knox County since 1997. He was retired as the plant manager of Tuf-Flex Glass Co. in Chicago (a division of LOF). He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. William was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Jelloway and the Masonic Lodge and Shrine, both in Toledo. He was a avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and photography.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey (Barnes) Skinner, whom he married March 25, 1950; his daughter, Jeri Skinner of Mount Vernon; his sons, David (Cindy) Skinner of Monclova, Ohio, and Matthew (Carol) Skinner of Howard; five grandchildren; and his sister, Janet (Raymond) Miller of Lancaster.
A service celebrating the life of William A. Skinner will be Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Military honors will be conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. The family will receive friends on Saturday from noon until time of the service at 2 p.m.. Burial will be in Toledo Memorial Park on Monroe Street in Sylvania, Ohio.
