FREDERICKTOWN — Beatrice Annett Burton, 87, of Fredericktown passed away Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 24, 1923, in Fallsburg to the late Ray and Anna Mae (Russell) Harris. She was a member of the Fredericktown First Baptist Church, Fredericktown Senior Citizens, Lions Club of Fredericktown, Senior Sisters of Fredericktown and American Legion Auxiliary. Beatrice was a 30-year volunteer at The Station Break in Mount Vernon and was the 2001 senior citizen of the year for Knox County.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Barbara) Annett of Mount Vernon, Ed (Anna) Annett of Danville and George Annett of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Frances (Stan) Kempton of Mount Vernon and Helen (Bob Blubaugh) Chandler of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Beulah Thompson of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul William Annett; second husband, Virgil Burton; a son, Paul Annett; four brothers, Oliver Harris, Walter Harris, Doris Harris and Kenneth Harris; and a sister, Hazel McVay.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, 33 E. College St., Fredericktown. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mary Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
