HOWARD — John Charles Frazee Sr., 77, of Howard died May 10, 2010, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Ashland.
He was born May 17, 1932, in Mount Vernon to the late Walter and Hellen (Riley) Frazee. John served his country in the Korean War from 1951-53. He was a P.O.W. and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a hero to his family and to the people of this country. John was a member of the VFW Post in Crestline.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Maryetta (Bailey) Frazee; his children, Chuck Bailey of Howard, Michael (Missy) Frazee and Connell (Rachel) Frazee, both of Mount Vernon, Bill (Vicky) Frazee of Galion, Sharon (Randy) Barney of Mansfield and Johnny Frazee of Galion; brothers, Raymond (Judy) Frazee of Mansfield and Richard (Marty) Frazee of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mary Jane Lough of Indiana; grandchildren, Dylan, Noah, James, Hailey, Starr, Paris, Aaron, Chris, Greg, Charlie, Jenny, Ray, Damian, Americus, Corey and Shenna; great-grandchildren, Maddy, Ashton, Trevor, Sam, Maryland, Cady, Michelle, Haley and Sentana.
John was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Frazee; and three brothers, Bob, Walt and Jim Frazee.
Friends may call Thursday, May 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Burial will be Monday, May 17, at 10:30 a.m. in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
