MOUNT VERNON — Jane E. Peterson, 79, of Mount Vernon died at her residence May 10, 2010.
She was born Sept. 2, 1930, in Mount Vernon to the late Clarence D. and Mabel E. (McKee) Lybarger. She spent her life in the Mount Vernon area. Jane graduated from Mount Vernon High School and then attended The Ohio State University. She was employed as a Business Office Supervisor/Instructor for Sprint-United Telephone Co. until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, where she served as church organist during her high school years.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Lisa Jane Peterson of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; Judith Lybarger of Ashland, the wife of the late brother C. Randall Lybarger; her two nephews, James R. Lybarger of Salem and Stephen A. Lybarger of Apple Valley.
Memorial services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Hood officiating. Burial will follow the service in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral arrangements for the Peterson family.
