MOUNT VERNON — Elda Louise Cline Cornelius, 84, formerly of Millwood,
met her Lord on May 11, 2010, at the Country Club Retirement Campus where she
was a resident.
She was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Virginia, Ill., to the late John E. and Mabel (Hudson)
Miller. She was a longtime member of the Owl Creek Baptist Church and of Riley
Chapel Church. She was a staff member of the Ohio Baptist Association. She served
as a missionary in Haiti, and traveled with her missionary group to Jerusalem.
She was an Avon representative and a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts,
and playing cards with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Judy (Clyde) Longsinger of Zanesville;
one grandson, Paul (Camellia) Peters of Mesa, Ariz.; two stepgrandchildren; four
sisters, Ellen Tablett of Silver Springs, Fla., Sylvia (Edward) Doup of Bellville,
Edna Ormeroid of Marysville and Velma Carpernter of Beverly Hills, Fla.; and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul
Cline; her second husband, Robert Cornelius; an infant son; and a brother, Harold
Eugene Miller.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral
Home in Danville with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Interment will follow
in Riley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. This
