FREDERICKTOWN — Donald Hathaway, 92, of Fredericktown died Wednesday,
May 12, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Donald was born Aug. 24, 1917, in Knox County to Lloyd and Neva (Murphy) Hathaway
and was a graduate of Fredericktown High School. Following graduation, Donald
continued the family tradition of farming, and maintained a family farm in northern
Knox County his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Batemantown United Methodist
Church and the Knox County Farm Bureau, Farm Council.
Surviving are his daughter, Joyce (David) Kroninger of Westerville; his son,
Joe (Lisa) Hathaway of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Krista Kroninger, Kayla
Kroninger, Jessie Hathaway, Jared Hathaway and Jackie Hathaway; his brother,
Leland Hathaway of Fredericktown; nieces, Ronda Hathaway, Connie (Al) Arens,
Lela Hathaway; several cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Doris
Hathaway, on Aug. 15, 2003; and infant daughter, Nancy Lou Hathaway; his sister-in-law,
Lorilla Hathaway; and nephew, Darel Hathaway.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown,
where funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at North
Fork Cemetery near Waterford.
