MOUNT VERNON — Richard E. Rowland, 80, of Mount Vernon died at his residence
on May 12, 2010, surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Jackson, Ohio, to the late Harry and Mabel (Yerian)
Rowland. Richard was a member of the AMVETS Post 95, the Colonial City Moose
Lodge and a Mason for the past 60 years.
Richard is survived by his children, Karen (Robert) Bumpus of Centerburg, Phyllis
Long of Colorado, Rita (Bob) Davis of Marysville, Rhonda (Rick) Brown of Mount
Vernon, Beverly (Michael) Timson of Ashville, Lisa (Tracy) Nethers of Gambier,
Lynn Rowland of Mount Vernon, Michael A. Rowland and Richard Rowland Jr., both
of Columbus, and Scott (Karen) Vagnier of Hicksville; a sister, Carol Groves
of Columbus; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy J. Rowland, in 1998; a brother, Fred
Rowland; and an infant grandson.
Friends may call Sunday, May 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Dilley-Lasater Funeral
Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral services will be held
Monday at 11 a.m. at Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg with Pastor Dwayne Shugert
officiating.
