DANVILLE — Peggy Lee Sapp, 59, of West Rambo Street, Danville, died May 24, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born Jan. 6, 1951, in Mount Vernon to Robert Dwight and Evelyn (Wharton) Mavis. She was employed as a cook in the dietary department of Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She attended the New Harvest Church in Mount Vernon and enjoyed playing the guitar and writing songs.

She is survived by her husband, R. Scott Sapp, whom she married Oct. 29, 2001. Also surviving are her mother, Evelyn Mavis of Howard; three daughters, Brittany and Kendra Harris of Mount Vernon and Angie Ferry of Texas; a son, Noel Ferry of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren; and four sisters, Connie Earnest, Mary Sue Scoles, Patty Hill and Robbie Frazee, all of Howard.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the New Harvest Church, 56 Mansfield Ave., Mount Vernon, where services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. with Pastor Monte Vance officiating.
