MOUNT VERNON — Charles Edward “Chuck” Ransom Jr., 56, of Newark Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Centerburg Pointe Care Center in Centerburg after a long illness.

He was born Dec. 27, 1953, in Mount Vernon to Charles and Ingeborg (Thaum) Ransom Sr. His favorite pastime was spending time with his son, riding bikes, shooting baskets and just being together. Music and people made him happy. He was always dancing. Chuck enjoyed canvas painting, paper maché sculpturing and photography. He loved golf and football and family gatherings. Before his illness, Chuck loved his job selling imported sports cars for Midwestern Auto Group and Buyers Imports. He was also employed by Mid-Ohio Transit of Mount Vernon.

Charles is survived by his son, Nikolas Pence Ransom-Brannon of Columbus; his sister, Rebecca (John) Hart of Centerburg; his mother, Ingeborg Ransom of Mount Vernon; his two nephews, Brad (Ashley) Hart and Jeremy Hart; and his extended family at Centerburg Pointe Care Center where he was dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Ransom Sr.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private graveside service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve the family of Charles E. Ransom Jr.

Chuck loved life and will be celebrating in Heaven now.
