SUNBURY — Joseph J. “Joe” Manz, 85, of Sunbury died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Worthington.

Born Dec. 20, 1924, in Saginaw, Mich., to the late Joseph and Anna (Kihn) Manz, he was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a retired security guard for General Motors Tech Center.

He is survived by his wife, Marian (Yurko) Manz; son, Peter (Tracey) Manz of Lewis Center; daughters, Kathleen Hofer and Cheryl Darlene Manz, both of Michigan; and grandchildren, Sarah Hofer, Michael Hofer, Peter “Trey” Manz III and Tara Manz.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, prayer service at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 Ohio 37 E., Sunbury, with the Rev. Father David Sizemore as celebrant. Military graveside services by the Delaware County Veterans Association following Mass.
