SUNBURY — Charles “Charlie” Hoover, Sunbury, died Friday, June 4, 2010.
He was born Sept. 27, 1924, to late Frank and Nellie Hoover in Sunbury. Charlie received his B.S. from Otterbein College and his master’s from The Ohio State University. Charlie served in the Navy during World War II. After the war, Charlie worked for Anchor Hocking, Lancaster, and the Ball Corp., Muncie, Ind.
He was preceded in death by first wife, Elizabeth; and son, Monte.
Surviving are wife, Rebecca; son, David of Roanoke, Va.; daughter, Angela Leckwatch of Galena; five grandchildren; sisters, Merna Wiswell of Sunbury and Glendora Steed of Radnor.
Friends may call today, June 7, 4-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 12259 N. Old 3 C Highway, Sunbury, with Pastor Dan Brown and Chaplain Bruce Benzing officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
