APPLE CREEK — Douglas G. “Doug” Oswalt, 59, of Apple Creek, formerly of Loudonville, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, June 8, 2010, at his home.
Doug was born Oct. 30, 1950, in Mount Vernon and was the son of Royal “Slick” and Kathyleen (Hall) Oswalt. He lived most of his life in Loudonville but had resided near Apple Creek for the past four years. He was a former 14-year welder at The Flxible Co., Loudonville, and had farmed and worked three years at Young’s Sand and Gravel, Loudonville. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two sons, Kirk (Wendy) Oswalt of Apple Creek and Clint Oswalt of Loudonville; two daughters, Michelle Raby of Centerburg and Christina Tennent of Shreve; 10 grandchildren; his parents, Kathyleen and Cecil Franks of Loudonville; one brother, Myron (Patricia) Oswalt of Loudonville; and one sister, Charlene (Jim) Morris of Loudonville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Royal “Slick” Oswalt.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m. in the Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. Diane McCartney and Pastor Shirley Thorpe officiating. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Loudonville Cemetery.
