OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. — Marvin Grant Tracy, 83, of Old Saybrook, Conn., passed away May 20, 2010, at Middlesex Hospital.

He was born June 28, 1926, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Duke Vaughn and Evelyn (Church) Tracy who lived in Danville, Ohio, for many years.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years, Nancy (Tipton) Tracy, and their children, Amy Tracy-Sagendorph and husband, Paul, of Brookfield, Mass., Allison (Tracy) Papa and her husband, Joseph, of Narragansett, Rhode Island, Stephen Tracy and his wife, Katie (Rottmann), of Lewis Center, Ohio; five grandchildren, Stuart Cunningham, Ian Cunningham, Kelly Tracy, Nathan Tracy and Mitchell Tracy; a brother, Chris Tracy and his wife, Gwen, and a sister, Mary Murnieks, both of Ohio.

Mr. Tracy was predeceased by his brothers, Richard, James and Michael Tracy, all of Ohio.

Mr. Marvin Tracy served in the U.S. Navy as an Ensign during World War II on the USS Columbia and the USS Perry from 1943 to 1947. He held a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Duke University and was a senior systems analyst for over 30 years in the field of computer software development.
