MOUNT VERNON — Kathryn A. Tharp, 81, of Mount Vernon died Monday, June 14, 2010, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Kathryn was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Knox County to Park and Miriam (Boals) Mossholder and had spent her lifetime in Knox County. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Mount Vernon, and had been active with the former Homemakers Bowling League at Tilden Lanes and Charger Lanes in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are her son, Robert (Melinda) Tharp of Mount Vernon; her daughters, Susan (Thomas) Butts of Mount Vernon and Jill (James) Zeigler of Fredericktown; grandsons, Troy Butts, Justin Zeigler and Nick Grassbaugh; great-grandson, Tyler Butts; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald and Jean Tharp of Centerburg.

Besides her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Tharp; brothers, Ivan E. Mossholder and Robert Mossholder; and a sister, Louise Mossholder.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Brandon Cemetery.
