MOUNT VERNON — Cary L. Horlacher, 72, of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1937, in Mount Vernon to the late George and Eloise (McCullough) Horlacher. Cary retired from Cooper Energy Services in Mount Vernon. He enjoyed playing music and trapshooting but most important to Cary was the time he spent with his grandchildren. Cary was often found around the baseball and softball fields lending a cheer of support for the grandkids.
He is survived by a son, George (Kathi) Horlacher of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Gabe (Karrie) Horlacher, Liz Price, Sarah (James) Deem, Travis Horlacher and Meghan Horlacher; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gary Lee (Helen) Horlacher of Croton.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Smith) Horlacher; and his stepfather, Delbert Johnson.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050, where a funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Bloomfield Cemetery at Sparta.
