NEWARK — A funeral service for Neil E. McDonald, 70, of Newark will be held Friday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery, Utica. Neil died June 29, 2010, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 13, 1939, in Licking County to the late Walter and Alice M. (Cassna) McDonald. He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall. Neil retired from Gummer Wholesale in 2009 and was a farmer and brick mason.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Louise (Angeletti) McDonald of Newark; son, Neal Cowan McDonald of Newark; three stepchildren, Eddie and Heidi Hartrum of Frazeysburg, Christina Hartrum of Newark, Kellie and Randy Wellman of Mount Vernon; friends, Brian Hartrum, Rick Woods and Greg Woods.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Webb; and sister, Romaine.

In lieu of flowers contributions, may be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 2740 Newark-Granville Road, Granville, OH 43023.

Friends may call Thursday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.
