SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — Goldie M. Holbrook, 81, of Salyersville, Ky., formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, died June 30, 2010, in Ashland, Ky., at the Hospice Care Center of Ashland.

She was born Oct. 9, 1928, in Shreve, Ohio, to John and Clara (Swinehart) Butcher.

Goldie is survived by her husband, Leonard Holbrook; daughters, Bonita Kaettner of Salyersville, Ky., Georgette Wilson of Mount Vernon and Linda Rains of Mount Vernon; a son, George Thompson of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Herman Butcher; and a grandson, L. Ray Taylor.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, July 3, at 11 a.m. in Bloomfield Cemetery near Sparta. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral arrangements for the Holbrook family.
