HOWARD — Clifford “Butch” Fields, 63, of 11734 Pipesville Road, Howard, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 5, 1946, in Home Creek, Va., to the late Monroe and Bertha Mae (Woods) Fields. He married Patricia Ann Blankenship on Sept. 5, 1970, who preceded him in death on July 16, 2008.

He is survived by a son, Cliff (Susan) Fields of Howard; a sister, Dorothy Sanders of Mount Vernon; two stepsons, Willie (Regina) Hylton of Richlands, Va., and Steven Bandy of Hurley, Va.; a stepdaughter, Sheila (Larry) Miller of Grundy, Va.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Ann Fields; five sisters; and two brothers.

A private graveside service, officiated by Pastor Ron Davis, was held Monday, July 5, at the Bloomfield Cemetery near Sparta. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville handled arrangements. Visit www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
